With the latest generation of their solution offering, AMS 9000, PowerOneData intends to make a very strong play within the Utilities industry in the near future. With a combination of creative and interface design, information architecture, usability studies, improvement plans, workflow optimization, and integration of product and company branding, PowerOneData and Idea can work together to position the AMS product as the leader in this industry.

PowerOneData contacted Idea Integration to assist them in realizing the final stages of their vision &ldqou;to turn data into a better opportunity for their customers.&rdqou; The Customer sought to pursue a brief assessment project to enable Idea’s team to analyze the as-is product and produce a report of recommendations and a migration plan for transitioning the product to an optimized, production-ready state.

Through our focused scoping activities with the Customer, PowerOneData provided the following objectives for this assessment effort:

Solution

Utilizing our Business Process Management methodology, Idea InsightTM, the Idea team initiated a series of analysis activities focused on workflow optimization, user experience and usability, information architecture and interface design.

As the product of this assessment initiative, the Idea team generated a Process Assessment report which detailed our recommendations on the to-be workflows, information architecture, and usability design of the proposed AMS 9000 solution. The findings included in this report were based upon interactions – interviews, workshops, workflow reviews, usability user testing, and more – with PowerOneData stakeholders and experts as well as representative users/customers of the solution.

Similarly, Idea developed a roadmap that outlines the project work necessary to develop and implement the recommendations provided during this assessment. This migration plan provided guidance to the PowerOneData team regarding the investment and level of effort that will be involved in fully transitioning the product to meet their final vision.

Return on Investment

With the analysis and information provided in their Process Assessment report, PowerOneData acquired the conceptual design and roadmap needed to define the remainder of the go-to-market plan for their AMS 9000 solution.

Utilizing the Process Assessment deliverable, and in particular the Migration Plan component, PowerOneData was able to initiate several development projects necessary to implement the recommendations suggested by Idea Integration to further prepare their product for a go-to-market launch.
